yesterday was a hard day here in the allen household. jeremy received a phone call that his dad had passed away. rather unexpectedly. it's been a tough time for sure.
carl was a lovely, lovely man that loved life, well, more than life. he lived on the west coast, so we didn't get to see him nearly as often as any of us would've liked, but when we were able to visit with each other, you could count on him having plans for us. or better yet, "we'd just play it by ear."
cayden was able to meet his papa rip a couple of times. and man, did that little guy love him. always tons of laughs to be had, cause you see, papa rip was a funny man. and he liked entertaining. so naturally, cayden loved him to death.
i don't really know that any words can do any of this justice, but i think the above photo can. these are the clouds that god provided us with yesterday evening. and the lyrics to the song above just popped in my head. i think it was a perfect showing of god's love for his children. and seeing this simple showing has helped jeremy in more ways than one can know.
with all that being said, if you pray, please keep our family in your prayers. and if you don't, just keep us in your thoughts. it's something that no one is ever quite prepared for regardless of timing. we're both taking several days off from work to just spend time with each other and i'm doing my best to help jeremy through this time. much love to all.
